Monday night I received a parcel pick-up slip. Tuesday morning I went straight to the post office.
With such exciting contents, I just couldn't resist taking a few snaps of my new treasure before I headed of to uni for the day.

I bought this adorable cartoon print shirt from Front Row Shop a few weeks ago, on the very first day it went up online. The colourful little scribbles were just too much to resist! So of course I had to wear it the same day it arrived.

By The Beach

Happy Australia Day!

On a day usually characterised by sun, pool parties, BBQs, punch, and Triple J's Hottest 100, I thought it would be fitting to share some pics from another beautiful day in the Australian sun down at Melbourne's St Kilda Beach.

Jacob and I went for a stroll along the boardwalk just as the sun was starting to make its way down through the clouds for the day and the light was too beautiful not to take some pictures!

I happened to be wearing one of my absolute favourite outfits which I hadn't yet shared. I bought this adorable printed octopus dress from ASOS forever ago and it's the perfect summer dress. It's super light and breezy, and who doesn't love a cute print! Even better when I can pair it with my other favourite printed treasure - my Kenzo platforms!

Denim Decisions

I never thought I'd fall for a set of full-length denim overalls - as a certified shorty, It just wasn't on the cards (or so it seemed).

On my recent trip to Melbourne I paid a visit to one of my favourite vintage shops - Retrostar Vintage. They have such a huge range of hand picked secondhand treasures, it's a bit ridiculous.

As I was browsing I came across the dungarees section and thought I'd try out some of the high-waisted short variety, but many before me had undoubtably had the same idea so there was really only large or ill-fitting ones left. I thought I'd try my luck in the full-length section and search for a pair I could cut short - and I struck gold.  I happily purchased the perfect candidate for the chop but when I got back to the apartment and tried them on again I wasn't so sure. I couldn't do it. I felt about 99% dork while wearing them in all their full-length glory, but I kind of liked it. So full-length they've stayed (for now).
Should I make the chop?

Magic Mushrooms

With Brisbane's first TOPSHOP opening today, I spent this past weekend being a total fangirl.
Twenty double passes for the launch party were up for grabs for Topshop lovers prepared to chase the promotional Topshop / Topman bus around Brisbane.
The first dedicated few to find the bus and say the codeword "P is for party" at each location scored an invite, and at the very last stop, The Brisbane Powerhouse, I was one of them!

I dressed in my best and brightest for maximum visibility to those with the power to hand out invites, which meant sporting my new Romance Was Born tee from the "Mushroom Magic" collection and these adorable new mushroom earrings!

The Magical Details:

A New Aje

Aje corsair sequinned top, aje black sequin top, fashion blogger aje, fashion blogger black sequin top, ethen leather skirt, white croc leather skirt, white leather skirt blogger, paper crane earrings, white leather wrap skirt

Last week I was invited to attend the VIP Launch Party for the new Aje store at Westfield Carindale.

Aje is fast becoming one of my favourite labels. All of their pieces are so delicately crafted with amazing attention to fine details, like their signature hand sewn sequin designs. A little piece of Aje will cost you a pretty penny but it's well worth it, they're definitely investment pieces - they're high quality and stunning wardrobe classics you'll keep coming back to.

For the night I decided to wear my own little Aje treasure, the gorgeous corsair sequinned top (old season but you can still find it online at Maximillia and Joy Hysteric), which I'm finding hard to resist wearing every time I go out.

The night consisted of a little instore party complete with live music, punch, photographers, a visit from the designers, and a VIP discount for all the Aje lovers in attendance! I tried on a few of their new pieces and am now totally lusting over the roaming free skirt and the scarlet cropped top. Definitely adding them to the Christmas wishlist.

Revival

red leather skirt, cropped denim vest, Romance Was Born denim vest, embellished vest, bat top, fashion blogger red skirt

As you may have read in my previous post, I scored this sweet little Romance Was Born embellished vest at The Diva's Wardrobe on Sunday. In the spirit of sustainable fashion, for the afternoon of shopping I'd decided to sport my favourite family hand-me-down, this gorgeous bright red leather skirt which used to belong my Aunt. I'd paired it with my all time favourite Batman crop (an oldie but a goodie), and then when I tried on the denim vest it just looked like I'd been planning the purchase all along! It was the perfect addition to my outfit (and my wardrobe).

My Secondhand Style:
