Casual Croc

My first week back at uni has flown by, and although things have been pretty easy-going academically, the challenge of dressing for uni hit me hard from day one.

When so much of your wardrobe is made up of sequins and mesh, it can make putting together a casual outfit for a day of lectures and studying a little tricky...

Looking back through some old outfit photos I found one that did what I'd been trying to do all week - successfully combine a statement piece with a more casual partner.

The statement piece in this case was my "Robo Croc" top by Garth Cook which I got at a huge discount online from Zara Bryson.
(And it's still on sale!)

I kept things quirky but casual by pairing it with some denim cut-offs, and adding my all time favourite flatforms, and some cute pompoms feat. googly eyes for earrings.

Although I sometimes still struggle with my uni outfits, I think I've at least got a pretty good handle on choosing uni shoes and bags. In fact, If you head over to the UNiDAYS blog you'll find a little shoes and bags edit I did in a special guest blog for them! I would love if you would check it out!

Happy Australia Day!

On a day usually characterised by sun, pool parties, BBQs, punch, and Triple J's Hottest 100, I thought it would be fitting to share some pics from another beautiful day in the Australian sun down at Melbourne's St Kilda Beach.

Jacob and I went for a stroll along the boardwalk just as the sun was starting to make its way down through the clouds for the day and the light was too beautiful not to take some pictures!

I happened to be wearing one of my absolute favourite outfits which I hadn't yet shared. I bought this adorable printed octopus dress from ASOS forever ago and it's the perfect summer dress. It's super light and breezy, and who doesn't love a cute print! Even better when I can pair it with my other favourite printed treasure - my Kenzo platforms!

A New Aje

Last week I was invited to attend the VIP Launch Party for the new Aje store at Westfield Carindale.

Aje is fast becoming one of my favourite labels. All of their pieces are so delicately crafted with amazing attention to fine details, like their signature hand sewn sequin designs. A little piece of Aje will cost you a pretty penny but it's well worth it, they're definitely investment pieces - they're high quality and stunning wardrobe classics you'll keep coming back to.

For the night I decided to wear my own little Aje treasure, the gorgeous corsair sequinned top (old season but you can still find it online at Maximillia and Joy Hysteric), which I'm finding hard to resist wearing every time I go out.

The night consisted of a little instore party complete with live music, punch, photographers, a visit from the designers, and a VIP discount for all the Aje lovers in attendance! I tried on a few of their new pieces and am now totally lusting over the roaming free skirt and the scarlet cropped top. Definitely adding them to the Christmas wishlist.

Everywhere You Look

Everywhere You Look

Everywhere You Look by outsideiscolours

I've been totally obsessed over Kenzo's amazing eye print pieces since forever, and now that the trend has finally spread to slightly more affordable options, I just don't know what to pick!
I'm not sure why I didn't get in to Polyvore sooner (it's so fab!!!), but I thought this was the perfect opportunity to try it out and share my eye-print edit with you.

Uniform

gingham jeans, kenzo flatforms, blue ombre hair, kenzo wild platform sandals, mink pink check jeans, gingham pants, animal print flatforms, leopard print flatform sandals,

Today I thought I'd share one of my recent uni outfits with you. I've barely taken my Kenzo flatform sandals off since I got them for my birthday so they've become my go-to uni shoe - my uni(flat)form!

Often there's a tradeoff with gorgeous shoes - you have to deal with a little discomfort if you want to look fab in them all day long, but not with these babies!
I can't get over how comfy they are!

Despite being a little out-there, they seem to go with just about everything too.
I have a feeling they'll be my staple platform for a long time to come.

I'm also a little obsessed with anything gingham at the moment. These jeans have been the perfect alternative to my plain-jane (but much loved) black Cheap Mondays, and they're brilliant when you're in the mood for a little strategic print clashing!

My uni outfit:
Wild platform sandals by Kenzo
Black lycra cropped roll-neck tank from Glassons
Black cropped knit jumper from Dotti (old season), and
MINKPINK gingham high-waisted jeans available from Market HQ.

Crazy B'Day Kicks

Kenzo flatforms MoonSpoon Buffalo Topshop

This weekend just past I celebrated the very special milestone of turning 21!
Although I only had a small get-together with close family and friends, I wanted to be able to go all-out with my outfit for the occasion, so I decided on a 'Streets of Tokyo' theme and advised all of my guests to dress in their craziest Tokyo street style inspired outfits.
Everyone looked hilariously great, and hopefully I'll have some party piccies up soon, but the real stars of my outfit were my ridiculous (but amazing) flatform sneakers.

I spied them on Topshop a month or two ago and just couldn't help myself, they were too perfect to resist. I couldn't believe my luck when I stumbled across these vibrant rainbow shoelaces in a box of my old stuff just a day before the party, it was the crazy combo of my dreams.

As if one pair of crazy shoes wasn't enough for the night, my older brother gave me these amazing blue/green animal print flatform sandals by KENZO, which I had been lusting after forever - I'm kind of still pinching myself.
