Laneways

outsideiscolours, outside is colours, witu clutch, neoprene clutch, witu semi circle clutch, hosier lane, fashion blogger graffiti, symantha rose,

Okay, so this is the last of the belated Melbourne posts, I swear (but if anyone wants to shout me another trip I'd be totally down with that).

These two sets of snaps were taken on a day out in the city exploring Melbourne's famous laneways, known for their vibrant street art. Hosier Lane and Union Lane were two of my favourites. (Doughnut graffiti? Yes plz!)

Although they were the smallest addition to my outfit for the day, my brand new Symantha Rose earrings were the piece I was most excited about wearing.

I spotted them at the super cute and eclectic Lenko Boutique, which is right next to Alice Euphemia in the beautiful Cathedral Arcade.

It took me a good 20 minutes or so to decide on the gorgeous green, blue, and purple crystal shaped pair I took home because there were just too many absolutely stunning one of a kind pieces to choose from! I have no doubt I'll be back for more (even if I have to shop via Lenko's instagram for now).

I think this might actually be one of my favourite outfits that I've ever thrown together. It's no secret I'm a sucker for fun prints and bright colours, but I think the addition of the sheer silk tee over the top just made everything a little less childlike and a touch cooler.
(Am I trendy now? Can I be a Melburnian again?)

The Diva's Wardrobe

There's no denying shopping is my all-time favourite activity, and I love it even more when I can treat myself to super fab pieces without that omg-how-much-did-I-just-spend guilt.
So my shopping outing to The Diva's Wardrobe today was a no-brainer!

The event held at RNA Showgrounds saw 26 Brisbane fashion-insiders aka "Divas" (including boutique owners, stylists, fashion agents, media personalities and shopaholics) selling never-been-worn and preloved favourites from their fabulous wardrobes including plenty of designer treasures!

I managed to find a few gems for myself including this gorgeous old-season Romance Was Born cropped vest which will be the perfect summer outerwear with its cut-out back. Continuing with the keeping cool theme, I picked out a super cute Topshop sheer black mini-dress which will be amazing for the beach and the hellishly hot Brisbane summer!

OOTD: Iridescent Bomber

front row shop bomber jacket

Finally I don a bomber jacket!
In keeping with the current sports luxe trend, bombers are the in-thing in outerwear this season.
I was definitely skeptical at first; no matter your figure, it seems hard to find one that flatters.
Luckily the sheer factor is here to keep us looking stylish without making us look extra chunky.
This bomber also combines another two of my favourite trends at the moment - dazzling iridescent fabrics, and white, the colour of the season. I'm in love with the gorgeous iridescent shimmer of greens,
golds, and blues that you see when the sun hits it, and it has a brilliant lightness to it.

I'm wearing: Sheer bomber jacket from Front Row Shop, black lycra cropped roll-neck tank from Glassonsvintage floral pants, silver skeleton pendant from Piercing Planet, and white flatform sandals from Topshop.

OOTD: Picnic in Pink

fashion blog ootd hot pink vintage silk pants

With exams finished and uni finally over for the semester (YAY!), what better activity to start the holidays with than an afternoon of smiles and snacks with all my friends I had been missing during the semester.

We got together for a cute little Sunday afternoon picnic in Southbank, but sadly the purpose of the event was to say farewell to a friend who will be heading off to Mexico until early next year - adiós Clare!

To counter my sadness over Clare's impending departure, I picked out the brightest piece of clothing I could find in my wardrobe - these HOT PINK vintage silk pants
I came across these little treasures a few years ago in an antique shop in Paddington and couldn't believe my luck. They're super comfy, in perfect condition, and all the little details (especially the gemstone buttons!) are divine. They've been hiding away in the sea of clothes that is my wardrobe for far too long and I'm so glad I decided to take them out for a spin; it was near impossible not to feel happy while wearing them.

I paired them with my striped mesh crop by Glamorous from ASOS, my brand new chelsea ankle boots from ASOS, and my Graz x Ellery Quixote catseye sunglasses from Optiko.

Gifts from Afar.

While I was at home stressing over midsemester exams last week, my jet-setting parents were off living it up on a short trip to Tokyo! My parents usually don't dare attempt to buy me gifts while they're away, my taste is a complete mystery to them and it's usually better for everyone to just avoid the inevitable disappointment of giving/receiving a way off the mark present. But this time Mum was shopping with a group of other mothers who were all buying gifts to shower their daughters with so I guess she joined in to avoid the guilt, and I'm glad she did!

Tokyo is #1 on my list of places where I would like to spend all of my money. The infinite range of eclectic items practically has me drooling, and Mum did a pretty great job picking our some cute things for me.

She nabbed me two pairs of super bright, cropped, printed pants from UNIQLO, and heaps of socks in adorable prints. The sheer ones with fruits and stars are my absolute favourites and I can't wait to take them for a test drive with my oxfords and jelly sandals!
